The Opportunity

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and capable cleaner at our new Training and Safety Centre in Bury. Duties will include cleaning corridors/stairs, offices, rest/recreational areas, toilets, showers, meeting rooms and dining areas

 

The successful candidate will have previous cleaning experience, suitable knowledge of health & safety, be able to demonstrate professionalism, work on their own initiative, a customer focused approach and dedicated to providing a high level of service.  

 

An NVQ level 2 certificate in Cleaning and Support Services Skills is desirable, although full training will be provided in order to achieve this.

 

Who we need

 

The successful candidate must be highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and change within a dynamic environment. You will be an experienced cleaner, able to adapt, prioritise workload and support varied customers.

 

Main Responsibilities include:

 

To use the following procedures as appropriate in the performance of the cleaning schedule:  suction clean floors and furniture, sweep floors, wet-mop floors, machine scrub floors.  Clean, dust, damp-wipe and spot-clean furniture, fittings, fixtures, pipes and radiators, ledges and light fittings.  Empty waste-bins, polish wood surfaces, replenish bin liners, toilet paper dispensers, soap and soap dispensers.

For clarity these duties are intended to mirror the specification contained with the Contract documentation.  Duties shall include compliance with elements of the specification which is available for inspection.

To safeguard the Authority’s property, equipment and materials at the work place.

To adhere to the Authority’s stated policy on the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’ at all times.
