Business Accountant
Finance, Audit

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Manchester Health Care and Commissioning for a Band 8a Business Accountant working 37.5 hours per week on a 12-month fixed term contract or secondment basis. The role is part of the commissioning finance team and will provide support to the Assistant Head of Finance and the wider finance team.

We are seeking applications from individuals who have the drive, passion and ability to make a difference to improve the health and social care outcomes of the people of Manchester.

The post holder will have a responsibility to deliver high-quality business management accounting work which involves the analysis of financial information, preparation of monthly reports and helping non-Finance colleagues to utilise financial and contract data for service redesign.

Covid-19 has changed the number and frequency of ad-hoc reporting requirements on the department and we are looking for a senior leader who can quickly digest complex guidance and co-ordinate team members completion of tasks. The successful candidate will also be expected to support the closedown of the CCG and set-up of successor systems as we move to becoming an Integrated Care System (ICS).

The CCG is committed to training and development of its Finance staff. The successful candidate will be given opportunities to participate in wider projects to develop their professional experience.

Although the role will normally be based at Parkway Business Centre (M14 7LU), with occasional travel across Manchester, it should be noted that MHCC has recently introduced a hybrid working policy with the vast majority of MHCC’s staff being home based at this stage with occasional office days. Interviews may be undertaken via an online platform.
