Your role:

Do you want to make a difference to thousands of young people aged 11-19 in Greater Manchester (GM) as part of a GM wide drive to improve young people’s life chances? Do you want to work as part of a well-established dynamic team in a stimulating environment with a high degree of flexibility?

 

We are looking to appoint a Senior Programme Manager to lead our Careers Education Model; someone with the energy and personality to bring leadership to an already high performing well established team at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA). The post holder will ensure the continued success of Greater Manchester Careers Hub model to deliver change in the way careers education is experienced by young people and secure a sustainability model for continuous improvement. The role will help us deliver on our existing and ground-breaking approach to careers and enterprise development for young people and deliver on the Mayor’s Life Readiness agenda.

 

This post demands excellent relationship management from close working with other Programme Managers across the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to having senior relationships with schools, colleges and businesses. This role delivers many of the Mayor of Greater Manchester’s Manifesto commitments as well as the national careers strategy set by government and led by the Careers and Enterprise Company. Our mission is that young people are better able to make choices and access the opportunities that will help them thrive in the economy. The successful post holder will play a significant role can help us create the best chances for some of Greater Manchester’s most vulnerable young people.

The role will involve working centrally at the GMCA but currently home working is required.
