The GMCA Research and Strategy Department is recruiting for a number of analyst and lead analyst roles in our research team. The roles are in the following areas:

-       Housing and Planning
-       Labour markets and skills

 

The roles are as an analyst or lead analyst (depending on experience) within the skills and employment research team, taking responsibility for leading and delivering important research projects from initial inception through to delivery and dissemination.

You will have an excellent academic background and a demonstrable track record in social scientific research projects, ideally with some knowledge and experience of analysing complex datasets, such as the Individualised Learner Record, the Labour Force Survey, the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings or the Land Registry Price Paid Data. It is also essential that candidates have good knowledge of relevant policy areas and current debates about reform in these fields.

Skills and experience you will need include:

·        A high level of technical competence in mixed methods research (both quantitative and qualitative);

·        Highly developed skills in conceiving and delivering research projects;

·        Excellent writing and presentation abilities that can be demonstrated in previous work;

·        interpersonal skills necessary to work with a range of different project teams and individuals across public, private and voluntary sectors;

·        A willingness to learn new techniques and approaches.
