Are you a developing internal audit professional, with a keen eye for detail, able to provide challenge and add value to systems of governance, internal control and risk management to effectively contribute to the achievement of TfGM’s Audit and Assurance Plan?

This is a busy and exciting time for TfGM, under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

TfGM’s Audit and Assurance team has a challenging and wide ranging programme of work covering TfGM’s key priorities and strategic, operational and financial areas of activity. To help deliver this programme, as an Internal Auditor you will conduct small, individual audit assignments allocated from the Internal Audit Plan, as directed by the Audit & Assurance Manager and in accordance with audit programmes, adhering to auditing standards and the CIPFA Code of Practice.

We are therefore seeking an enthusiastic, confident, conscientious and hardworking individual with the necessary experience and professional background to fulfil this role. You will have experience of conducting a range of audit assignments, applying the standard internal audit process, from planning through to reporting and will have knowledge of internal audit principles, practices and standards. You will also have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present your findings to senior internal colleagues to secure change and improvement to TfGM’s systems of internal control and governance.

The salary for this role is £26,844 - £31,405 per annum. Salary on appointment will be based on your skills and experience within the salary band. In return, as well as a competitive salary, we also offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:
