TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London

We have an excellent opportunity for a driven Qualified Accountant to support the business through a significant period of change. As well as our more traditional transport construction projects and programmes, such as Metrolink, transport interchanges, rail stations, highways and bus priority, we are now delivering a range of emerging priorities from easing congestion, addressing air quality and encouraging more people to cycle and walk. Overall this level of investment is likely to exceed over £1 billion over the next few years.

You will support the delivery of the Greater Manchester Clean Air Plan and projects relating to delivering smart ticketing solutions.

Working as part of a team, you will be the first point of contact for finance support with your customers, partnering with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. You will provide support in developing business cases, reviewing and challenging project assumptions, provide routine and ad-hoc financial and management reports, ensuring that the information supplied is insightful and relevant.

You will have strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders using a variety of forms of communication including presenting information to a range of financial and non-financial audiences.
