An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a pro-active, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Contracts team as a Contracts and Projects Manager within the Corporate Services directorate. The role offers opportunities for personal/professional development and a chance for someone to bring their own skills, knowledge and experiences to enhance an already high performing team.

The department holds approximately 200 contracts which require annual delivery and monitoring of with the support of internal ancillary teams. The post holder will also have the opportunity to support procurements to secure high quality health and care services.

Successful Candidate Attributes

The post-holder will need to:

•Have experience in negotiating, drafting and managing contracts (preferably in a healthcare setting).


•Be familiar with procurement rules and regulations relating to the purchasing of public sector goods & services.


•Have a good understanding of NHS finances and annual planning.


•Be highly organised & efficient to support with a portfolio of contracts and other projects as they arise.


•Have experience in leading projects and programmes – adopting project management techniques in the process.


•Be enthusiastic and passionate for consistent service delivery, adopting a continuous improvement style approach to your work. Be a focal point for enquiries as required.


•Be confident in a range of communication skills to correspond with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, especially when dealing with sensitive or confidential information.


•Hold personal integrity in high regard and be passionate about their standards of work.


•Understand the skills required to manage resilience in a challenging work environment.


•Have a passion for developing staff through successful management techniques.


•Be keen to develop their skills and knowledge through professional development and training.


Applicants will require experience of managing complex contracts and projects in a changing environment. An understanding of NHS contract documents and healthcare Commissioning is essential for the post holder to be successful in the role.

This will be a varied role with opportunities to develop your skills, experience and knowledge base within a high performing team.
