Your role:
The GMCA Strategy Team leads on strategy and co-ordination across the Combined Authority (CA), supports the CA’s policy teams by providing policy expertise and capacity on areas of priority, provides advice and support to the leadership of the CA, and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders.
This role supports delivery of the CA’s key policy priorities and provides support for the Mayor, Chief Executive of the CA and other CA Leaders through briefing, preparation of presentations, attendance in meetings, and other activity.
It also provides analytical and business support for the delivery of the Greater Manchester Strategy, working with the communications team, policy teams and research team.
About you:
You will be keen to develop your policy and strategy career in a fast-moving and exciting environment working directly with the Mayor and GMCA Leaders. You should have experience of working in a policy or strategy role at a national or local level. You will have extensive experience of working in a complex multi-partner environment and working to challenging deadlines. You will have the versatility and time management skills to work across multiple evolving projects and policy areas at once.
You will be diplomatic, comfortable with working with senior politicians, business and academic leaders and providers. You should take an interest in sport policy and be ambitious about Greater Manchester. You will take a creative leading role in influencing our policy and strategy development and be passionate about the impact this will have on Greater Manchester as a leading city region.
