Is this you? Are you passionate about Information Governance and are seeking the opportunity to lead a team of IG professionals in the pursuit of Information excellence? If so, then the GMCA is recruiting for a Senior Information Governance Lead and Deputy Data Protection Officer to join our Information Governance team!

You will be one of two Senior Information Governance Leads within the team and you will manage team members as you support the Assistant Director and Data Protection Officer to lead the way in Information Governance. This role is for someone with strong people management skills, who has detailed and expert knowledge of Information Governance matters, can see the big picture, and think strategically as a leader. It is a responsible role with a varied remit that will provide you with an opportunity to take an innovative and modern approach to drive internal compliance in the GMCA and support the delivery of an Information Strategy and Framework across Greater Manchester.

You Will…

·         Have extensive professional Information Governance experience and/or recognised qualifications in information compliance disciplines.

·         Deputise for the Assistant Director and Data protection Officer as required.

·        

Manage the workload of your team and allocate resources effectively within a changeable working environment.

·         Be responsible for management of IG team staff and harnessing a  culture of peer support and QA within the IG Team work

·         Support the AD and DPO in embedding a resilient and flexible IG function

·         Lead on complex data protection impact assessments and information sharing agreements.

·         Produce reports, both regular and ad-hoc to suit a range of audiences including but not limited to, the GMCA Information Governance Board, the Greater Manchester Information Board, Senior Management Team and the Corporate Leadership Team.

·         Ensure the business as usual tasks of an information governance team are consistently performed to a high standard.

·         Be motivational in your leadership approach, keeping the team on track and supporting their needs.

·         Explore different ways of working with the other senior members of the team to be enable the team to deliver results.
