Communications and Engagement Manager
Administration

This is a Greater Manchester Health Care and Partnership post. Manchester CCG or Greater Manchester Combined Authority will host the employment of this post on behalf of the Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership (GMHSCP).

In April 2016, through devolution, Greater Manchester took charge of its health and social care.

The Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership is the body made up of the local NHS organisations and councils in Greater Manchester, which is overseeing devolution and has taken charge of the £6 billion health and social care budget.

Our visionis “to deliver the greatest and fastest possible improvement to the health and wellbeing of the 2.8 million people of Greater Manchester”.

As part of this vision, the partnership launched a Greater Manchester Population Health Plan in January 2017. This featured 25 programmes to help all residents to start life well, live well and age well, and to reform the health and care system to establish a more unified approach.

The uniquely ambitious strategy for Making Smoking History is one of the highest priority and highest profile programmes within the population health plan.

Midway through the plan’s implementation, with evidence emerging of our impacts, we are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, skilled and highly motivated communications and engagement manager to play a key role in the ongoing development, delivery and review of activities to contribute to our vision.

They will be responsible for:
•Developing, implementing and evaluating communications and engagement projects, campaigns, events and activities across population health plan programmes, with a particular focus on Making Smoking History.

•Creating resources and materials, including commissioning of external agencies, as well as writing, editing and coordinating internal and external materials as needed across a range of channels.

•Making the most of opportunities to link Making Smoking History and other population health programmes to the overall Greater Manchester Population Health Plan, the wider Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership agenda, the overall Greater Manchester Strategy, and key partner activities.
