These are exciting times in Greater Manchester with massive investments being made in its transport infrastructure. A well-managed highway network is a vital part of a prosperous and forward-looking Region. As well as contributing to the huge range of works already taking place, we also look after the day to day management of the Greater Manchester Key Route Network.

To meet these challenges we are seeking a graduate in a numerate discipline to join the Highways Forecasting and Analytical Services Team. You will play a pivotal role in a team that delivers modelling and appraisal for major transport schemes, contributes to the development of network management strategies and works to mitigate the impact of new development proposals. You will also develop and contribute to corporate responses to planning applications affecting the Greater Manchester Key Route Network.

This is a challenging environment where you will have the chance to grow and build upon your existing knowledge and skills. You will be working with a forward thinking organisation which is pushing the barriers to transform lives and the economy of Greater Manchester.

You should be highly numerate, have excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills and have a keen interest in developing your understanding of the theory and application of transport planning methods and techniques for model development, scheme forecasting and scheme appraisal.

The salary range for this role is £26,844 to £38,228. Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.
