Your role:

As Senior Project & Policy Manager for healthy homes, you will be supporting people across Greater Manchester to live in a safe, warm home that meets their needs, by managing and delivering projects and developing and maintaining relationships across a wide range of complex and senior stakeholders.

The GM Healthy Homes project is a key workstream within the GM Housing Strategy. You will support local authorities and partner organisations to deliver baseline healthy homes services (also known as home improvement agency services), which support people to live in good quality homes, that are safe and warm, for as long as they are able to.

This project has been developed through the GM Tripartite Agreement, a joint strategy between GMCA, NHS GM and the GM Housing Providers, which responds to the complex issues connecting housing, health and care. This role is jointly funded with NHS GM, acknowledging the importance of healthy homes services in preventing people entering health and care settings and longer term, contributing to improving the quality of housing to as a means to reducing health inequalities.

You will need the ability to drive project delivery and collaborative working. And you will be part of a planning and housing team working on other high profile projects like the Good Landlord Scheme, the Places for Everyone joint plan and our mission to deliver 30,000 truly affordable net zero carbon homes.

About you:

You will have a good understanding of the structure of local government and councils’ responsibilities in relation to housing and social care. Experience of working within a Home Improvement Agency or Private Sector Housing policy and/or delivery environment is desirable, but not essential.

You will bring skills and experience in project or programme management and an ability to solve problems and juggle multiple activities. You will be comfortable managing relationships and working in collaboration with external and internal partners: face to face, in writing and online. You’ll have strong IT and organisational skills, be happy dealing with data and financial information and be able to work in a busy and professional team where attention to detail, accuracy and high quality standards are the norm. You will enjoy supporting your colleagues and partners to improve the services we collectively provide, and helping us to ask how we can do better for the people of Greater Manchester.
