Your role:

We have an exciting opportunity in our Fire Team for a Procurement Business Partner. We are looking for an experienced procurement professional to lead on procurement activity and contract management delivered through a business partnering approach.  Reporting to the Senior Procurement Business Partner, you will focus on ensuring high-quality outcomes are delivered for internal stakeholders and customers, ensuring compliant, effective and efficient procurement processes are in place and widely used, and supporting the Senior Procurement Business Partners in the delivery of key, strategic procurement activity across the organisation.

There is a strong focus on collaborating with other fire services and public sector partners. Wide ranging procurement activities include:

  • Firefighting equipment
  • Specialist fire response vehicles
  • Uniform and Personal Protective Equipment
  • Scenario training

 

You’ll work closely with other Procurement Business Partners where Fire requirements overlap with their specialisms, for example in sourcing specialist software. Reporting to Senipr Procurement Business Partner, you'll support driving the Business Improvement plan, ensuring the whole organisation is ready to take full advantage of the Procurement Act 2024.

You'll be expected to influence the direction and  scope  of the whole team to create better outcomes for the people  and  businesses  of Greater Manchester.


About you: 

Provide a proactive, responsive commercial service to GMCA supporting the delivery of key, strategic procurement activity across the organisation, ensuring safe, effective and efficient processes are in place and widely used.

Lead on high-profile, complex procurement projects to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on-budget and according to agreed specifications.

Undertake the negotiation and management of strategic contracts, both capital and revenue and support the contract management arrangements for critical areas of spend.
