Your role:

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of children & young people in Greater Manchester? Do you want to work in a dynamic team working at the forefront of reform in children’s services?

GMCA are looking for an experienced project manager to join a dynamic team leading a dedicated programme of work focused on how as a city-region we can work together to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing the children’s social care placements market. Through collaboration between the ten Local Authorities and their partners GM already has strong foundations to build on through our existing Looked After Children Sufficiency programme. Now with national reforms emerging focused on tackling issues of cost, quality and sufficiency we want GM to lead the way in transforming the system so that we have more children placed locally in high quality placements, more foster carers and better outcomes for our children. If you are up for being part of this ambitious programme then this role could be the one for you…

About you:

As a Project Manager in the Greater Manchester Children & Young People’s programme team, you will thrive in working in partnership with a range of stakeholders and taking people along with you on a change journey. You’ll enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and finding innovative solutions to complex challenges.

We are looking for applicants who have:

·         Project management qualification or demonstrable significant experience of project management.

·         Experience of managing significant programmes of work using programme / project management methodologies and techniques.

·         Experience of working on programmes with multiple stakeholders from different teams and/or organisations and cultures to achieve common objectives.

  • Experience of influencing others to deliver results.
